Academic council

The main task of the Institute’s Academic Council is to develop well-founded recommendations (proposals) to the Commandant of the Institute for further decisions on the main tasks and issues of the Institute’s activities: the educational process, military discipline and psychological support for the training of military specialists, scientific and scientific-technical activities, military service, specific measures for training specialists holding higher education degrees, as well as other areas (aspects) of the educational institution’s daily activities, in accordance with its Regulations.


Authorities of the Academic Council

discussion and approval of collections of educational and professional programs (curricula, other working documents) for each level of higher education and specialty, making changes to them;

making decisions on the organization and conduct of educational activities at the Institute;

determining the general directions of scientific and scientific-technical activities of the Institute, approving the main directions (stages, measures, etc.) of scientific research and innovative activities;

considering issues related to amendments and additions to the Regulations in the interests of the Institute, including those concerning the Institute;

making changes to the composition of the Academic Council of the Institute;

electing the secretary of the Academic Council of the Institute;

holding competitions to fill vacant positions of command (leadership) and scientific and the faculty of the Institute;

making proposals to the Commandant of the Institute regarding appointments to positions;

discussing and approving proposals for the plan of scientific and scientific-technical activities of the Institute, discussing the results of its implementation (reports, recommendations, etc.);

reviewing the progress and results of the most important scientific research, as well as issues related to the publication of educational,
methodological, and scientific literature within the framework of educational and methodological support for the educational process;

providing recommendations (proposals) to the head of the Institute on improving (the effectiveness of) the educational process and enhancing the quality of cadet training and their academic performance;

evaluation of the scientific and pedagogical activities of the Institute’s structural units;

review of the results of educational, methodological, scientific, and educational work, feedback from the military units on graduates of the Institute and the results of studying their experience of service in the military units, the results of the work of examination commissions, and the conclusions of inspections (accreditations, licensing) of the Institute;

discussion of the procedure for conducting certification and issues related to the admission of cadets to it;

discussion of the content of comprehensive exam programs and methodological recommendations for the defense of certification works during the certification of cadets;

hearing reports from chair heads on the results of cadets’ practical training and internships;

discussing issues related to the state of military service, military discipline, and the effectiveness of measures to provide psychological support for the educational process;

considering issues related to the development and improvement of the institute’s material and technical base;

consideration of candidates from among cadets for personalized scholarships based on their academic performance;

submission to the Academic Council of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” of materials for consideration of candidates for the academic ranks of senior research fellow, associate professor, and professor;

consideration of applications for honorary titles;

hearing reports (notifications) from applicants (postgraduate students, doctoral students) of the Institute on the implementation of their individual plans for work on dissertations;

discussion of issues related to decisions on the expulsion (reinstatement) of cadets, development of relevant recommendations to the Commandant of the Institute;

discussion and approval of plans and manuscripts of educational (educational and methodological) publications;

discussion of the results of the implementation of the Institute’s editorial and publishing plan for the year and approval of the Institute’s editorial and publishing plan for the following year;

review and approval of the Institute’s report for the academic year;

consideration of other issues related to the activities of the Institute.
